The milestone follows the initial launch of the Riyadh Metro by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on November 27, 2024.
In addition to the Orange Line’s debut, the RCRC has introduced three new stations on the Blue Line, which connects Olaya Street to Batha. These newly operational stations—Al Morooj, Bank Al Bilad, and King Fahd Library—further enhance the metro’s comprehensive coverage.
The Riyadh Metro’s phased operations began in December 2024, starting with the Blue, Yellow, and Purple Lines on December 1. The Red and Green Lines followed shortly after on December 15.
With the full system now operational, the metro network provides seamless travel across Riyadh, connecting residential, commercial, and cultural hubs while supporting the city’s vision for sustainable urban mobility.
The Riyadh Metro operates daily from 6 a.m. to midnight, offering passengers the flexibility of digital ticketing through the Darb app, self-service kiosks, or ticket offices. Payment options include credit cards, bank transfers, and mobile devices, ensuring accessible and hassle-free travel for both residents and visitors.
The completion of the Riyadh Metro highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing urban infrastructure as part of its Vision 2030 initiative. By improving connectivity and reducing traffic congestion, the metro positions Riyadh as a leading global city, offering modern, efficient public transport solutions to its growing population.
